HC Deb 02 July 1951 vol 489 c188W
94. Mr. G. Williams

asked the Minister of Food if he can now give an assurance that he has sufficient tinplate to enable this season's fruit crop to be canned.

103. Mr. Hare

asked the Minister of Food whether he is now in a position to release more tinplate to fruit-canning factories in order that adequate arrangements can be made to preserve this year's crop.

Mr. Webb

As we do not yet know how much fruit will be available for canning, I am unable to give the assurance asked for; but there should be enough tinplate to pack as much as last year.
