§ 136. Mrs. Braddockasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that some of the multiple butcher firms in Liverpool are making it obligatory on their shop managers to show a return of takings in their shops much higher than the percentage allowed by his Department; that, in order to do this, higher prices for meat must be charged to the consumers; that managers or assistants have been dismissed because they have not complied sufficiently with the management's request; and, in view of the seriousness of this position, if he will have immediate inquiry made.
