HC Deb 23 January 1951 vol 483 cc16-7W
Mr. G. Williams

asked the Minister of Food what is the estimated profit on the sale of calf hides that are produced and sold to his Department by British farmers.

Mr. Webb

Calf skins are not purchased separately by my Department; the whole live animal is bought at a price covering carcase, offals and skin. It is not possible, therefore, to estimate separately the financial result of the disposal of calf skins.
