HC Deb 28 February 1951 vol 484 cc289-90W
62. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of Food what was the cost of 3,200 tons of strawberry pulp ordered but not accepted from Holland; and, in view of the remarks of the Comptroller and Auditor General on this matter, if he will give an assurance that he will cease these bulk-purchase operations.

Mr. F. Willey

Two hundred and one thousand seven hundred and fifty-seven pounds and ten shillings. My Department stopped the bulk purchase of fruit pulp a year ago.
