asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will examine the position of lower-paid dockyard workers with a view to an increase in their pay.

An increase of 8s. a week in the wages of ordinary labourers in the home dockyards has been agreed on the Shipbuilding Trade Joint Council, with effect from November, 1950. Increased rates of pay for other grades of Admiralty industrial employees have also been agreed on the Council.
