HC Deb 26 February 1951 vol 484 c256W
113. Sir H. Roper

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will take steps to mitigate the effect on coal prices in Cornwall of the policy of supply from Newcastle instead of, as hitherto, from Wales.

Mr. P. Noel-Baker

I am informed by the National Coal Board that, so far as the availability of coal will permit, supplies for particular consuming areas are drawn from sources which have been found over the years to be the most convenient and economic. But coal must sometimes be drawn from other sources, when the supply or transport situation so demands.
