asked the Minister of Supply how many rifles have been sold by this country since 15th August, 1945; and what proportion these represent of the total number of rifles available at that date.

I would- refer the hon. Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for War on 6th February to the hon. and gallant Member for Worthing (Brigadier Prior-Palmer). My Department has sold 234,200 of the surplus rifles. It would
