asked the Minister of Transport what is the total amount of money to be spent in respect of the Broadford—Armadale road now being reconstructed under the Crofter Counties scheme; on what date was reconstruction started; how much has been done to date; and what is the cost per mile to date.

A length of five miles between the Broadford—Kyleakin Road and Kinloch is now being reconstructed at an estimated cost of about £40,000. Work started on 15th September, 1948. and so far £29,000 has been spent. averaging £5,800 per mile.
