§ 77. Mr. Perkinsasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the importance from the defence point of view of maintaining the small ports on the West Coast of England in an operational condition, he will convene a conference of Departments concerned with the use of such ports to ascertain what can be done to ensure their maintenance and development.
§ Mr. BarnesI am, of course, fully aware of the part played by the small ports on the West Coast and elswhere in the United Kingdom. The defence aspect is under consideration by the Departments concerned, and I do not see any need for a special conference to be convened.
