HC Deb 15 February 1951 vol 484 c103W
120. Dr. Hill

asked the Minister of Labour the grounds on which engineering apprentices who completed their apprenticeship training in 1946, 1947 and 1948 are regarded as outside the field of call-up for National Service.

Mr. Bevan

The grounds are set out in the White Paper on Call Up to the Forces in 1947 and 1948 (Cmd. 6831) in accordance with which call-up has, since 1st January, 1947, been confined, with certain exceptions, to men born in or after 1929. I am sending a copy of the White Paper to the hon. Member.
