Mr. Errollasked the Minister of Supply how many new cars have been received by Government Departments since 1st December, 1950, the date of commencement of the new covenant enforced by the British Motor Trade Association, in replacement of departmental 14W cars received new any time since 1st January, 1946.

StraussThirty-four new cars have been delivered to the Service Departments since 1st December, 1950, but I am not in a position to say whether they were in replacement of cars bought since 1st January, 1946. For other Government Departments, one new car has been delivered to replace one,. bought since 1st January, 1946, and damaged beyond repair in an accident.
