HC Deb 05 February 1951 vol 483 c169W
92. Colonel Banks

asked the Minister of Transport if, in view of the scarcity of sheet steel, zinc, brass and copper, and of the necessity for conserving these materials, he will consider introducing legislation to give effect to the Waleran Report which would reduce the numbers of petrol pumps being manufactured for other than the armaments drive and other priority needs.

Mr. Barnes

The recommendations of the Waleran Committee are not directed to the conservation of scarce materials and I am not considering them from that point of view.
