HC Deb 05 February 1951 vol 483 cc175-6W
Mr. Fitzroy Maclean

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the hardship involved, he will make an ex gratia payment to Mr. L. Crookall in respect of the death of his son, Mr. John Crookall, who died as a result of tuberculosis contracted in the course of his duties as a student nurse at Lancaster Moor Hospital.

Mr. Marquand

I have been fully informed of the circumstances attending the death of Mr. John Crookall and fear I should not feel justified in making anex gratia payment to his father.
