HC Deb 05 February 1951 vol 483 c171W
99. Colonel Banks

asked the Minister of Supply why allocations of sheet steel, aluminium, zinc, brass and copper are being cut by 15 to 50 per cent. to companies engaged in the manufacture of equipment for the Armed Forces.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

The cuts to which the hon. and gallant Member refers are in the supply of metals to first line users, such as fabricators, to whom guidance has been given on the distribution of their products. In particular, it has been made clear that the requirements of defence must be met in full.
