HC Deb 05 December 1951 vol 494 c258W
54. Mr. Steward

asked the Minister of Food if he will investigate the possibility of packing food, at present contained in tins, in some alternative form of packing, in view of the shortage of tin and the high price of this metal.

Major Lloyd George

My Department and the food trades are continuously inquiring into every possibility, and wherever supplies and the necessary adaptation of machinery permit, alternative forms of packing are being adopted.
