HC Deb 05 December 1951 vol 494 cc256-7W
Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Defence whether he will consider the introduction of a special railway concession for all ranks of the three Armed Services stationed in this country, whereby, in addition to the normal free railway warrants when proceeding on privilege leave, they may, twice per year, when granted 48 hours' leave, travel to their homes within the United Kingdom at a cost not exceeding £1 for the return railway journey.

The Prime Minister

Apart from the normal free travel warrants issued for each period of long leave, all members of the Services in this country, and their families, enjoy the benefit of travelling on the railways at concession rates.
