49. Mr. W. W. Astor

asked the Minister of Defence whether he will set up a committee representing appropriate voluntary organisations with an independent chairman to co-ordinate and extend the recreational and welfare facilities available for American and other allied forces stationed in Great Britain.

This whole matter is being considered by the Foreign Office and the Service Departments, and I will keep my hon. Friend informed of developments.
