asked the Minister of Labour if he will give the number of days lost through industrial stoppage for each of the four years immediately before and after the Second World War.

The aggregate numbers of working days lost in stoppages of work arising from industrial disputes in each of the four years immediately before the Second World War were 2,130,000, 3,370,000, 1,740,000 and 1,290,000, respectively. The corresponding totals for the four years immediately following the war were 3,000,000, 2,320,000, 2,550,000 and 1,500,000, respectively.
