HC Deb 03 December 1951 vol 494 cc191-2W
78. Mr. Edward Davies

asked the Minister of Transport what period he has allowed under Section 76 of the Transport Act, 1947, as the limit for the submission of charges schemes by the British Transport Commission to the Transport Tribunal.

Mr. Maclay

In August last my predecessor allowed a further period of two years for the submission of outstanding charges schemes. As he indicated in the House on 23rd July, this further period is likely to be required for the draft scheme for dock charges, but the Commission then expected to need only a few months for the submission of a draft merchandise charges scheme. Some further time may, however, be required to enable all those concerned to consider the matter in the light of the Government's intentions in regard to transport.
