HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c276W
116. Mr. Driberg

asked the Lord Privy Seal if, in considering the future of the South Bank site, he will endeavour to secure the permanent preservation, there or in other convenient public places, of some of those characteristic features of the present exhibition which take up comparatively little space but provide valuable illustrations of contemporary art and architecture, such as the telecinema, the skylon, the Lion and Unicorn pavilion, the 51 bar, and the water-mobile sculpture near the shipping pavilion.

Mr. Stokes

I am studying these and other points about the future of the South Bank site, and of the buildings and exhibits of the South Bank Exhibition, in consultation with the authorities concerned, and an announcement will be made in due course.
