HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c232W
64. Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in accordance with Section 39 of the National Insurance Act, he will instruct the Government Actuary to antedate the quinquennial review of that Act, due in 1953, in order that the Minister of National Insurance may report to Parliament as ordained by Section 40 (2) of that Act.

Mr. Jay

No. It would be premature to call for a comprehensive review at this stage of the working of the National Insurance Scheme. An interim report on the operation of the Scheme during the period up to 31st March, 1950, was laid before Parliament in February this year.
