§ 73. Mr. George Craddockasked the Minister of Health if he will take steps to provide medical examinations upon entry to this country for the families of displaced persons, many of whom have suffered great hardship and physical discomfort, and so prevent the spread of tuberculosis and other certifiable diseases.
§ Mr. MarquandArrangements have been made for the medical examination224W of displaced persons entering this country under the decision announced by my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary, on 4th May, 1950, to admit up to 2,000 such persons previously in the care of the International Refugee Organisation. Relatives of displaced persons who enter otherwise than under these organised arrangements are liable to medical examination, if thought desirable, but a detailed examination of all such persons would not be practicable.
