LORD CLYDESMUIRasked His Majesty's Government whether they can make a statement about improvements in the salaries of the full-time sheriffs and the sheriffs-substitute in Scotland, and when any changes decided upon will be made effective.
§ LORD MORRISONIt has been decided that the salaries of whole-time sheriffs and sheriffs-substitute in Scotland shall be increased by £500, and that the date from which these increases shall operate shall be the same as the date from which the corresponding increases in the salaries of county court judges will operate. The date last mentioned will be decided by Parliament.
