HC Deb 26 April 1951 vol 487 c97W
89. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning in view of difficulties arising from the desire of a tenant who has more than adequate accommodation being forbidden by his landlord to sub-let rooms the tenant is not using or does not need, whether he will take steps to prevent this waste of accommodation by empowering local authorities to take action in such cases.

Mr. Lindgren

Subject to provision against overcrowding, a tenant wishing to sub-let may do so, if he registers the accommodation with his local authority. This is laid down under Defence Regulations (68CB).
