HC Deb 26 April 1951 vol 487 c93W
75. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Minister of Education whether he is aware of the continued shortage in the supply of science teachers; and what action he proposes to remedy this problem.

Mr. Tomlinson

I am aware that some schools are having difficulty in filling vacancies with suitably qualified graduate science teachers. The matter has been engaging my close attention in consultation with the National Advisory Council for the Supply and Training of Teachers and I propose to bring to the notice of the university authorities all the relevant facts as set out in the Council's forthcoming report.
