asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why Madame N. Parfenova of Moscow has received a visa to visit this country.

Madame Parfenova was granted a visa to enable her to accept an invitation from the International Women's Day National Committee to attend certain functions arranged by them. An extension of stay was later granted to enable her to attend the Annual Conference of the National Union of Teachers. She arrived in the United Kingdom on 8th March, 1951, and left on 31st March.
