Member is not available but, for the 17,600 Post Office stamp-selling machines, the excess amount collected in each of the years 1949 and 1950 was about £1,000 out of estimated total receipts of about £1 million. Recorded faults requiring technical attention amounted to 1.4 per machine per year.
