HC Deb 23 April 1951 vol 487 cc12-3W
102. Mr. Dye

asked the Minister of National Insurance how many women farm workers have applied for unemployment benefit at King's Lynn employment exchange during the four months December, 1950, to March, 1951; how many have been granted benefit and how many have been refused benefit on the ground that they were seasonal workers; and how many cases have yet to be determined.

Mr. B. Taylor

I regret that figures are not available for the period in question but on 15th March, 1951, 183 women agricultural workers were registered as unemployed at King's Lynn employment exchange. Of these 111 had been considered under the Seasonal Workers Regulations, and of these 54 were receiving benefit and 57 were under disallowance. The answer to the last part of the Question is "None."
