HC Deb 23 April 1951 vol 487 cc15-6W
Mr. MacColl

asked the Minister of National Insurance how many people draw family allowances in respect of more than one child.

Mr. B. Taylor

I assume that my hon. Friend wishes to know the number of families for whom an allowance at the rate of 10s. or more a week is being paid, that is, those with three or more children in the family. The present number is about 1,100,000.
