asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will now give a report of the negotiations with the Argentine authorities on the question of meat supplies;

(2) what other matters are being discussed besides meat supplies with the Argentine Government; and what progress has been made.

125. Mr. Alport

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement with regard to the outcome of the meat negotiations which are at present taking place in the Argentine.

I understand that these negotiations are very nearly concluded, but I am not in a position to make a statement yet.
