asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what instructions or advice he has issued to the Metropolitan Police in recent years as to the practicability or impracticability of prosecuting the drivers of goods vehicles of an unladen weight exceeding three tons for travelling at a speed of over 20 miles per hour.

I understand that the Commissioner of Police has issued no special instructions on this subject to the Metropolitan Police in recent years.
