HC Deb 19 April 1951 vol 486 cc193-4W
Mr. W. Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that an official announcement has been made in the Gold Coast that the cutting out of swollen shoot disease on cocoa trees is to be suspended for one month; and whether this action has the approval of His Majesty's Government.

Mr. J. Griffiths

I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend's reply on 18th April to Questions by the hon. Members for Twickenham (Mr. Keeling) and Hornsey (Mr. Gammans). This is a matter fully within the competence of the Gold Coast Government.
