asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is now in a position to make a statement about a review of the law of copyright.

Yes. After consulting my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor I have decided to appoint a Committee with the following terms of referenceTo consider and report whether any, and if so what, changes are desirable in the law relating to copyright in literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works with particular regard to technical developments and to the revised International Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works signed at Brussels in June, 1948, and to consider and report on related matters.

I am glad to say that the noble Marquess Lord Reading has consented to act as Chairman. The following have accepted my invitation to serve on the Committee:
