§ Major Beamishasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements he has been able to make for liaison and co-ordination of the languages chosen for the British Broadcasting Corporation' s Overseas Service and Free Europe Radio which started broadcasting at the beginning of July; and whether he is satisfied with these arrangements.
§ Mr. Ernest DaviesThe Free Europe Radio is a non-governmental organisation broadcasting in languages used in Soviet dominated countries of Eastern Europe. The times of these broadcasts do not seriously conflict with those of the British Broadcasting Corporation's transmissions. It has not, therefore, been found necessary to make any special arrangements for co-ordination of the languages used in the services of the two organisations or to establish any direct liaison between them.
