HC Deb 26 October 1950 vol 478 c385W
13. Mr. P. Smithers

asked the Minister of Health whether he will make special provision under the National Health Scheme for the accommodation in hospital of incurable cancer cases, with a view to avoiding their being placed in wards for the aged and infirm.

Mr. Bevan

It is for the regional hospital boards to decide on the allocation of beds between different types of case. I have no reason to suppose that they do not so far as possible take into account the special circumstances of these patients.
