Williamsasked the Minister of Works whether his attention has been drawn to the undue quantity of non-ferrous metal used in brass water fittings prescribed by the statutory water under-takers as compared with the M.O.H. brass water fittings, which were previously sponsored by the Ministry of Health; and what action he proposes to take to prevent this waste.
§ Mr. StokesI assume that the hon. Member refers to water taps specified in British Standard No. 1010. This standard was published by the British standards Institution after long consideration and consultation with all the main interests concerned and I see no reason to intervene.
