Mr. Thurtleasked the Minister of Health what urgent steps he proposes to take to speed up supplies of hearing-aids 315W now in short supply for urgent cases, and if he is aware that at the London Hospital, supplies are inadequate and the position is becoming worse rather than better owing to the growing percentage of possessors of these instruments who need renewals which constitutes a drain on the supplies and lessens the numbers of instruments available for new applicants.
§ Mr. BlenkinsopSupplies of new aids are expected to increase and in addition supplies of reconditioned aids are now becoming available.
§ Mr. Hylton-Fosterasked the Minister of Health what is the number of applicants now awaiting the delivery of hearing aids in the City of York; and how long the earliest such applicant has had to wait for the delivery of the appliance.
