§ Mr. StokesThe Ministry of Works have leased Charles House in order to provide accommodation for staff of the Post Office and other Departments previously working in scattered requisitioned premises. The building contains about 309,000 sq. ft. of office space and 41,000 sq. ft. of storage space. It will be occupied by about 3,200 staff of the Post Office, Inland Revenue Department, Ministry of National Insurance, National 291W Assistance Board, Ordnance Survey Department, Ministry of Supply and Ministry of Works. It is not the practice to disclose the rents paid by the Ministry.
