§ Mr. HobsonAbout £645. During the year, 132 vacancies (on an establishment of nearly 2,400 postmen) were filled on a permanent basis, 199 by staff under consideration for permanent appointment, and 238 by temporary staff. 156 vacancies are at present unfilled.
