§ Mr. Ernest DaviesI am glad to be able to inform the House that the Italian Government has intimated that they will meet their obligations as regards interest payments due in respect of the Austrian 4½ per cent. Guaranteed Loan on 1st December, 1950, on the same basis as formerly. In addition, the Italian Government have expressed the wish that the whole question of their position as guarantors of the Loan should be examined again at the next meeting of the Anglo-Italian Economic Committee, which is due to be held in Rome in December, with a view to a final solution being reached.
