§ Mr. Marloweasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the extent of damage to road surfaces 62W and consequent danger to road users caused by tanks and other Army tracked vehicles; and whether he will give instructions that such vehicles should normally be carried on transport carriers and that, where this is not practicable, a very low speed limit should be imposed.
§ Mr. StracheyTanks are invariably transported on road transporters or by rail on all moves except on manoeuvres or on purely local journeys for which it would be uneconomical to use road transporters. Speed limits are imposed on all tracked vehicles travelling on roads. If the hon. Member has any particular cases in mind, I shall be glad to look at them.
