Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that two tenders for eight houses in two villages in Berkshire are for £1,988 per house including site works in the one case and £1,449 excluding site works in the other and that the total cost is likely to be in the neighbourhood of £2,250 per house in the one case and £1,950 in the other; and since the estimated revenue of the local authority has been based upon the average cost of £1,600 for a post-war house what advice his Department is giving to local authorities in regard to this matter.
