HC Deb 17 November 1950 vol 480 c209W
Mr. Chetwynd

asked the Postmaster-General what arrangements have been made with Spain to eliminate interference by Madrid Radio with the reception of the North Regional Home Service on Tees-side.

Mr. Ness Edwards

In a supplementary answer on 15th November to the hon. Member for Scarborough and Whitby (Mr. Spearman) I said that "we had got rid of the Spanish interference." I was referring inadvertently to interference with the B.B.C. West of England Home Service. I regret that the interference with the Northern Home Service continues. My Department sent a telegram to the Spanish Administration on 6th November seeking their co-operation, and a reply is awaited.
