§ 77. Mr. Jannerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether more halfpennies and threepenny bits are being minted, in view of the increasing transport use to which these coins are being put.
§ Mr. JayCoin is circulated through the banks and the fact that their demands for halfpennies and threepenny bits are being met shows that the public are getting what they require. Halfpennies to the value of£1,000 a week have been issued by the Mint for the last five years, but the demand for threepenny bits has fallen off recently.
