§ 84. Mr. G. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware of the case of Vernon Hutchinson who was arrested in error in Jamaica and beaten at the police station so that he contracted tuberculosis from a broken rib, but is unable to obtain the compensation awarded by the court against the police officer; and whether he will make representations to the Jamaica Government on Mr. Hutchinson's behalf.
