§ Mr. WebbEvery precaution is taken to see that animals are fed and watered and that they are properly looked after. The arrangements are supervised by the slaughterhouse managers and my area officers make frequent visits of inspection to see that cattle are treated humanely. If the hon. Member will let me have details of any specific case of ill treatment, I will have inquiries made. I have not, myself, received any complaint of unnecessary suffering.
