§ Mr. F. Willeypursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 17th May, 1950; Vol. 475, c. 1217] supplied the following information:
It is estimated that the subsidies on rationed foods allocated to industrial canteens and to commercial caterers during 1949–50 amounted to £7.4 million and £6.8 million respectively. These figures do not include the subsidies on milk and shell eggs, which are allocated foods, nor those on unrationed foods such as bread, flour, potatoes and fish.
