§ 106. Mr. M. Lindsayasked the Minister of Health whether he will arrange for the restoration to housing authorities of the discretion to issue licences for house private building up to one-fifth of their allocation, to take place during the current year and not merely from 1951.
§ Mr. BevanThe arrangement which has been made is designed to avoid dislocation of building programmes already under way, and to enable the future distribution of houses in each area to be settled by the local authority with full regard to the comparative needs of the applicant.
