asked the Minister of Supply what sums have so far been expended on the construction of the Brabazon I aircraft, the runway at Filton and the assembly building; and what is the present estimate of the total final cost under each of these headings.

The sums expended to date on the runway and assembly buildings are £2,110,000 and £2,948,000 respectively. Present estimates of the total final cost are £2,655,000 and £3,298,000. The sum expended to date on the aircraft is £4,366,000 and a new estimate of the total final cost is at present in course of preparation.
