§ 29. Mr. Odeyasked the Secretary of State for Air whether, in view of the fall in the number of Regulars in the Royal Air Force, he will consider raising the retiring age of officers who are medically fit to carry out their work and who are willing to sign on for further service.
§ Mr. A. HendersonThere has been no fall in the number of Regular officers, which has in fact increased from 14,156 on 1st April, 1948, to 18,472 on 1st April, 1950. In these circumstances, there is no need to consider raising the retiring ages.
